Tonight for dinner I am having shirtaki tofu noodles with TJ’s turkey bolognese sauce and a garden salad with lettuce, carrots, and celery with balsamic vinaigrette dressing. Shortly, I will be leaving to go babysit the new family. Hopefully the little girl and I will get along well. She is too cute! I am praying that we don’t get snow tonight. Her parents said that would probably be home around 1am and I have a feeling the snow will start before though. At least it is a Monday so not too many should be on the roads late. Crossing my fingers for no snow!
For lunch today I am bringing a turkey and lettuce sandwich on toasted whole wheat bread with celery sticks and grapes. If all goes well, this will be my LAST rat experiment for my thesis. It almost sounds too good to be true. I can potentially be doing more experiments if I end up being able to go to that conference in San Diego but it is not looking too promising at this point. So if my professor agrees, I will begin my immunohistochemistry staining tomorrow and get that underway so I can finish up everything as soon as possible so then I can focus on writing my thesis. I cannot wait to bang that out. Granted I know it is going to be a lot of work, I’ll be so glad to have it behind me. Hope today is a start to a great week!
This morning for breakfast I am having a bowl of Cherrios with fat free milk and an apple. This is the first time I have had cereal since living in my apartment (which is 1.5 years!). I don’t drink milk and rarely even have it in cereal, but the boy convinced me to drink/try fat free milk and that I would get used to it compared to the normal 2% my family buys at home. I must admit I don’t really notice a difference. I am going to try to eat cereal on a more regular basis. It is quick and easy and not a bad way to start my day. Ok, now I must figure out something to pack for lunch since I am heading into the lab asap!
Chicken Salad Sandwich, Baby Carrots January 30, 2011
Lunch today I am having a chicken salad sandwich on a toasted multigrain english muffin with some baby carrots. Love this! Well I met the new family and they were pretty nice. They are different from the other families I watch but I’ll see how it goes. Their daughter is adorable and I am going to watch her the next two nights so hopefully that will go well. Earlier today I did two loads of laundry and did a little grocery shopping. I didn’t need a ton of things but I mainly drink bottled water and was all out so I stocked up that and a bunch of other things too. It is healthy eating here on out! I am planning to hit the gym a little later, start reading my new book, and get to bed early. Sounds like a good plan to me!
This morning for breakfast I am having egg beaters on half of a toasted bagel and an orange. I am soooo tired from babysitting last night. Although both kids woke up during the night they were still good. I just had trouble staying awake until the parents came home! I ended up watching Valentine’s Day ondemand so that helped. I had already seen it before and it is not that hard to follow so it was the perfect choice for a ‘please keep me awake light romantic comedy’ haha. Well this afternoon I am meeting a new family (another one!) to babysit here and there. The couple has a 3-year-old daughter and says they would need me 1-2 nights a week for a few hours. They don’t live too far from me either so I am going to see what I think. This will make it four families that I now babysit so hopefully it won’t become too much. Luckily, I am not too busy with school and can use the extra time to save up some money.
Chicken Salad Sandwich, Apple January 28, 2011
Lunch today I packed a chicken salad sandwich on a toasted multigrain English muffin, packed separately to avoid sogginess. I am also bringing this sad looking apple. I’m not sure why it’s all bruised up but it will still be good. I am hopeful that I will get out of the lab by at least 2pm so I can hit the gym and have time to shower before the chico gets out of work and swings by. That is my goal for today anyway! I have been way too lazy and it’s unacceptable. I cannot wait until softball starts in a few months — that will whip me into shape. Ok, I must run. Have a fabulous Friday!! :D
This morning for breakfast I am having a Chobani raspberry Greek yogurt and two clementines. I am finally going into the lab today to do an experiment. I feel like it has been way too long! I hope I get good results today. I can’t even believe it’s the weekend again. I honestly feel like it it just was the weekend! I bet I’ll be wishing that is in the case when I start working full time haha. I really need to go grocery shopping soon. I am getting pretty low on things but I probably won’t be able to go until tomorrow at the earliest. I will make due though! In all honesty, I could probably go weeks without going and be fine. Sometimes I just want certain things :) Ok, time to pack lunch!
