Turkey Divan with Almonds & Broccoli, Baked Yam Half April 18, 2012

Filed under: Dinner — Maria @ 6:35 pm

Dinner tonight is the same once again — turkey divan with almonds and broccoli and a baked yam half. I only ended up eating half of my yam last night so I saved the other half for tonight. For some reason I feel the need to snack when I get home from school then dinner time rolls around and I’m not that hungry yet I feel like I need to eat a nutritious meal. I need to get my act together for me.  Unfortunately, my softball practice tonight was canceled since my coach had a death in the family. Maybe it is for the best so I can focus on studying for my pathology test tomorrow but I was really looking forward to getting outside and moving around. At least I have games Friday and Sunday. Luckily, I wasn’t the PA in clinical seminar today and my SP went pretty well I think so that was good. I’m not 100% sure what my patient had but I am basically between two diagnoses and just need to pick one and make a case. Not bad!

TJ’s High Fiber Cereal with Banana Slices

Filed under: Breakfast — Maria @ 6:58 am

This morning for breakfast I had a bowl of TJ’s high fiber cereal with unsweetened vanilla almond milk and a sliced banana. So I didn’t sleep great again last night because it was so warm but I only woke up twice so that was a little better. It is much cooler this morning I am beyond comfortable which I love. I actually was cold at school yesterday because of the AC so it was such a tease after coming home to my sweltering apartment. Oh and last night I did my first male genital exam. I was a little nervous but mostly excited to learn correct and proper technique. The men teaching us were a lot of fun and super helpful/encouraging. So now if I’m on rotation and get asked “did you ever do one before?”, I can successfully say yes I am and be confident about my technique and wording used during the exam. It really was a great experience. In June, we learn on females, which I have a feeling will be a little more difficult eek!
